About Chris

Chris White is a composer and recording artist.

Since graduating from the UK National Film and Television School, his reputation as a composer has been strengthened by the success of many of the films he has composed scores for. Films such as La Planète Encore, a film by French legend Moebius; Irish feature One Hundred Mornings, winner of an Irish Film and Television Award and a New York Times critics’ pick; À Mi-chemin featuring actor Laurent Lucas; and short ﬁlm Les Conquérants, in competition at Sundance 2012 and shortlisted for a 2013 CÉSAR best animation award.

Recently Chris composed the score for his 5th feature ﬁlm The Heart Machine.

From 2010 to 2015, Chris toured and recorded with Van Morrison, appearing on Van’s last two albums for Blue Note Records and RCA respectively.

As an arranger, Chris has worked with a broad range of artists, from Van Morrison to Billy Ocean. Chris’s background as a touring musician writing and performing his own material as well as sharing stages with the likes of Van Morrison, Ray Charles, Paul McCartney and Joe Williams, mixed with his formal classical training, has meant exposure to influences that have been fused in his music to create a fresh and unique voice.
