You will be given access to a pre-recorded webinar led by Mike on the fundamentals of starting a career in animation. Watch this webinar in its entirety before session 1 and come prepared with questions.

Read your syllabus and decide on an idea for the animated pilot you want to write. Do appropriate research about the world of your show. Be able and prepared to pitch the premise and basic theme of your show in less than three minutes.

This week will consist of one-on-one consultations regarding pilot structure and reviewing all of the student’s material so far. Each writer will send in their pilot outline, character descriptions, and rules of their “world” in advance and will have a phone consultation to discuss what works and what doesn’t.

 

WEEK 4 – The Pitch Deck

This week we will go over examples of professional pitch decks and how they work with an outline and pilot script to sell your show and how you customize your pitch deck to various broadcasters. You'll have one-on-one Q&A with Mike.

 

WEEK 5 –Pitch Deck Consultation (One on One Consultations – No Online Class)

This week will consist of one-on-one consultations reviewing all of the student’s material so far. Each writer will send in their pilot outline, character descriptions, rules of their “world”, and pitch deck in advance and will have a phone consultation to discuss what works and what doesn’t. Identify places to pitch the series and prepare for to write the series pilot in part 2 of the class.

A: Stage 32 Next Level Classes are typically 90-minute broadcasts that take place online using a designated software program from Stage 32.

Q: Do I have to be located in a specific location?
A: No, you can participate from the comfort of your own home using your personal computer! If you attend a live online webinar, you will be able to communicate directly with your instructor during the class.

Q: What are the system requirements?
A: You will need to meet the following system requirements in order to run the webinar software: Windows 7 or later Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or later.
