Experiments in the blending of analogue and digital tools for creative work piqued my curiosity early on in my career, developing within me a maker mindset that I've since applied to web design, motion graphics and projection mapping projects across corporate, broadcast, live events and digital marketing platforms.
This love for experimentation and discovery has informed work I’ve created for Audi, Nokia, Channel NewsAsia, Singapore Tourism Board, IE Singapore, Our Better World, Pandora Jewellery, GMP Recruitment Services, Accenture, M Moser Associates, Discovery Channel, M1 Limited, SingTel, AIA and Prudential, amongst others.
In Our Better World’s first interactive Web-Story, multimedia and scrolly-telling conventions were used to bring to life a story about Vientiane Rescue, a volunteer-run ambulance service in Laos. Enriched by compelling photography and insightful audio interviews with the volunteers, the interactive story resonated deeply with its online audience.
In Projection Mapping for live events, such as the launch of Audi Centre Singapore and the celebration of the Merlion’s 40th anniversary, I worked closely in-tandem with technical crews on the ground to both design and animate; test, trouble-shoot and deliver engaging motion graphics content within tight production schedules.
In “Raffles Place Ghost” for GMP Recruitment Services, I was involved with supervising the on-set shoot of VFX elements that I had to later composite and colour-grade to create the raw, gritty feel of found footage. The resulting award-winning Digital Marketing campaign proved to be a hit with audiences worldwide.
The analogous worlds of creative, digital and tech have actively sharpened my problem-solving skills; enabling me to think on my feet while keeping a close eye on the details that make for the successful delivery of a project within schedule and budget.
Delivering affective phygital experiences, born of design thinking workflows, is where I would like to head towards in the immediate future. Working in collaborative environments to design empathetic solutions that seamlessly blend creative, digital and tech, with real-time analytics in stand-alone installations is where I see myself in the years to come.
