Leaders, trendsetters, trail blazers. These are a few words that describe the beauty of the film industry. Pioneers that move the industry in a certain direction and change the way movies are made. We are bringing you some of the top leaders and trail blazers in Hollywood! These execs and companies didn't take "no" for an answer and changed the industry. 

We have Paramount Insurge, Electric City Entertainment, Circle of Confusion and Resolution on tap and we couldn't be more excited for you. We welcome all of our Stage 32 writers and filmmakers to pitch your scripts and reels to these extraordinary companies. From the leaders of Horrors, to the leaders of Dramas, to the leading management company in Hollywood, to head of the story department at a new agency powerhouse, this is going to be one of our most groundbreaking Online PitchFests yet! Pitches can be done via Skype or, if you are unable to use Skype or unavailable at the time of the fest, can be submitted as a written or prerecorded pitch.

Company Executives

Jessica Engel

Jessica Engel - Creative Executive, Electric City

Jess Engel began her entertainment career in June 2011, working for Lynette Howell at Silverwood Films. When Lynette teamed with Jamie Patricof to launch Electric City Entertainment in January 2012, Jess stayed on and is now their Creative Executive where her focus is on finding exciting new material and cultivating relationships with writers and directors to help expand Electric City’s slate. While at Electric City, Jess has worked on such films as Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, starring Amy Adams & Christoph Waltz, and Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines, starring Ryan Gosling & Bradley Cooper. Jess recently wrapped production on producing her first short film called Sheila Scorned, a Grindhouse directed by Mara Tasker.

Jess graduated from UC Davis with a degree in American Studies and minor in Communications. Prior to entering the film world, she worked in marketing, research & branding at Hall and Partners in Los Angeles, and also spent a year teaching English in Argentina.

Nathan Samdahl

Nathan Samdahl - Creative Executive, Parmount

Nathan was recently promoted to creative executive at Paramount Studios. Before working at Paramount Studios, he worked in development at Paramount Insurge which was Paramount's indie division specializing in projects under $5M, Nathan worked at agency powerhouse APA in the lit department. He originally worked for agents Debbie Deuble, Sheryl Peterson and Sarah Amico before being promoted to features coordinator. Before APA he read and developed scripts at Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (MONEYBALL, THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES) and New Regency Productions (MR AND MRS SMITH).

Jeff Portnoy

Jeff Portnoy - Manager, Bellevue Productions

Jeff Portnoy is a literary manager at Bellevue Productions. He was named as one of Variety's New Leading Managers.

Prior to joining Bellevue, Jeff worked at Creative Artists Agency, The Gotham Group, Resolution talent agency and Heretic Literary Management.

Originally from Massachusetts, Jeff received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film Production from Point Park University in Pittsburgh and studied Film and Television writing at UCLA Extension.
