Stage 32 and The Happy Writers are excited to take you to the East coast of the US to bring you our most prestigious production companies and managers in New York. We have some of the top studios, agencies and producers lined up who are looking for screenwriters and filmmakers to work with in 2014. If you are a screenwriter or filmmaker, you will have the opportunity to pitch your script or reel one-on-one with these executives.
We have Phase 4 Films, IFC Films, Maven Pictures, Animal Kingdom, Big Beach, Olive Productions and Dogfish lined up and we couldn't be more excited for you. We welcome all of our Stage 32 writers and filmmakers to pitch your scripts and reels to these extraordinary companies. Pitches can be done via Skype or, if you are unable to use Skype or unavailable at the time of the fest, can be submitted as a written or prerecorded pitch.

Amanda is a producer, filmmaker & writer. She is writer on YOU streaming on Netflix. She also re-wrote Future Relic, which is Daniel Arsham's directorial debut starring Mahershala Ali, Juliette Lewis and James Franco. She was formerly the development executive for Full Fathom Five, lead by James Frey which is responsible for the YA series The Lorien Legacies in which the first book I Am Number Four was made into a feature film by DreamWorks Studios. She previously worked in development and production, helping to found production company Animal Kingdom. There, she co-produced Destin Daniel Cretton’s SHORT TERM 12. SHORT TERM 12 started as a critically acclaimed short film in which Animal Kingdom helped develop into a feature indie darling, winning over 37 awards including the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at SXSW and was released by Cinedigm. She was also an incremental in seeing films like David Robert Mitchell's IT FOLLOWS, Justin Tipping's KICKS, and Joachim Trier's LOUDER THAN BOMBS move into production - and optioned David Carr’s THE NIGHT OF THE GUN. Amanda has also worked with Luca Guadagnino (I AM LOVE) on his short film “Here” for Starwood hotels. Prior to working at Animal Kingdom, Amanda was Director of Development at Locomotive, where she worked closely on Jennifer Westfeldt’s FRIENDS WITH KIDS starring Jon Hamm, Adam Scott, Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph.
Michelle began her career in film at Chaos Films in Tel Aviv, Israel as the Director of International Development. After returning to the States she began working as an Associate Producer for Dogfish Pictures. In 2012, Michelle was a community organizer for Headshots & Highballs, a media network organization based in New York, NY. During her spare time she moonlighted as a standardized tests teacher and tutor for Revolution Prep, which focuses on providing affordable programs and community outreach for its students. In 2013, she launched Dogfish Accelerator alongside James Belfer (LIKE CRAZY, COMPLIANCE, VAMPS). Dogfish is the first ever accelerator program for film producers. They work with producer teams to help build a company and work towards raising capital for an initial launch project.
Rachel Dengiz is a producer and filmmaker based in New York City. She began her career working for independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, where she served as an associate producer on COFFEE & CIGARETTES and as a production associate on BROKEN FLOWERS. She has directed two documentaries about the punk rock band Rise Against, and produced music videos for Diana Krall, Sophie Auster and Bobby Emmett. While at Olive Productions from 2010-2014 (Wren Arthur, Steve Buscemi & Stanley Tucci's production company), Dengiz produced the documentary MEDORA, and produced independently the documentary THE PUNK SINGER. Both films premiered at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival and were picked up for distribution— MEDORA will be released on PBS’s INDEPENDENT LENS in March 2014, and THE PUNK SINGER was released by Sundance Selects / IFC. Dengiz just wrapped production on the narrative feature KEEP IN TOUCH. Now producing independently, she continues her work at Olive on a freelance basis.
Sean recently was part of the team that negotiated and acquired North American rights to writer-director Joe Begos' sci-fi horror film ALMOST HUMAN which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. IFC Entertainment consists of multiple brands that are devoted to bringing the best of specialty films to the largest possible audience: IFC Films, IFC Midnight, Sundance Selects, IFC Productions and the IFC Center. IFC Films a leading distributor of quality talent-driven independent film. IFC Midnight is the company's genre label featuring features horror, sci-fi, thrillers, erotic art-house, action and more. Sundance Selects focuses on American independent, documentaries and world cinema. IFC Center is a five screen, state-of-the-art cinema with luxurious seating and HD digital and 35mm projection that shows art-house films in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village. IFC Entertainment pioneered the unique distribution model of releasing films in theaters the same day they are available on video on demand. The company customizes a distribution strategy for each film, which may also include day and date, something that IFC Entertainment pioneered whereby films are available in theaters the same day they can be accessed through the On Demand platform. IFC Entertainment is owned and operated by AMC Networks Inc.
Nic Marshall is Director of Operations for Maven Pictures, a New York based development, production and financing company run by independent powerhouses Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler. Marshall served as Executive In Charge of Production on the Oscar-nominated film THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT starring Annette Bening, Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo, and most recently GIRL MOST LIKELY starring Kristen Wiig and Annette Bening. They are currently in production on the movie TEN THOUSAND SAINTS starring Ethan Hawke, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld and Emile Hirsch. Marshall has also served as associate producer on THE WINNING SEASON and Brad Anderson's VANISHING ON 7TH STREET, as well as production executive for Richard Linklater's BERNIE and THE WHISTLEBLOWER starring Rachel Weisz. Prior to Maven Pictures, Marshall worked at Mandalay Vision and Plum Pictures.

Dani Melia joined New York based production company Big Beach in 2007 and works as Big Beach's Production and Creative Executive. Big Beach was founded in 2004 by Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf to produce and finance independent films, documentaries and works for stage. Big Beach strives to create meaningful, life-affirming projects that inspire, engage and entertain, such as it's box office sensation Little Miss Sunshine. Dani has worked on several films with the company including Away We Go starting John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph, Jack Goes Boating starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Ryan, Our Idiot Brother starring Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott and Zooey Deschanel, Safety Not Guaranteed starring Aubrey Plaza and The Kings of Summer starring Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso, Alison Brie and Megan Mullally.
