Online Pitchfest VII: Screenwriters and Filmmakers With Thanksgiving coming up, Stage 32 and The Happy Writers want to say we are thankful for you and how you make this community so special. As a special treat, we are beyond thrilled to bring you the opportunity to pitch your script or your reel to our best companies yet. We have **Lawrence Bender Productions**, **Millennium Films**, **Evolution**, **Yari Film Group**, **Jim Young Productions**, **Endgame Entertainment**, **Informant Media**, **Boss Media** and **Marc Manus Entertainment** on tap and we couldn't be more excited for you. We welcome all of our Stage 32 **writers and filmmakers** to pitch your scripts and reels to these extraordinary companies. Pitches can be done via Skype or, if you are unable to use Skype or unavailable at the time of the fest, can be submitted as a written or prerecorded pitch. We love being able to connect you into the heart of Hollywood and it's your success stories that keep us going every day. We have rounded up some of the biggest producers and managers in Hollywood - collectively these companies and executives have brought you Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, Lovelace, Anger Management (TV), Looper and Side Effects, just to name a few. ### Who should be pitching? Anyone with a script or reel with the thought of having a company produce, manage or help finance your project. Rick Bitzelberger is the Development Executive at Informant Media, a Los Angeles-based film finance and production company focused on bringing award-winning features and television to millions of people. Kirsty Maurer Grisham is the VP of Development at The Hideaway Entertainment. She was formerly the Director of Development for Endgame Entertainment, a production and financing company focused on the development and creation of thought-provoking original content with an aim for high-quality projects from innovative filmmakers. Under the leadership of CEO James D. Stern, Endgame has produced and/or financed a variety of film, television, and live stage productions across a wide range of genres. Through strong partnerships with major studios, agencies, and foreign sales companies, Endgame provides access for A-list talent and filmmakers to collaborate with producers and financiers who prioritize originality while guarding the intentions of the screenplay.

Beth Bruckner O’Brien

Beth Bruckner O’Brien - Director of Development, Millennium Films

Beth is interested in action and thriller feature scripts of any budget range!

Millennium Films is one of the largest and longest running independent film companies and currently finances and produces up to 10 films a year.

Beth started her film career working at ICM, International Creative Management. After a year at the agency, Beth went on to work for a foreign sales company, Omega Entertainment. From there, she secured a position at Peter Block’s film production company, A Bigger Boat. At A Bigger Boat, Beth worked in development for 3 years, most notably on House at the End of the Street directed by Mark Tonderai and on projects such as John Carpenter’s The Ward and Adam Green’s Frozen.

Currently, Beth is serving as the Director of Development at Millennium Films where, under the tutelage of President of Millennium Films, Mark Gill, she has had the immense privilege of developing and packaging high profile projects such as Olympus Has Fallen, The Expendables franchise, Texas Chainsaw 3D, Homefront, Lovelace and Iceman.

During her tenure, Millennium Films has produced and financed 19 films and has over 30 projects in various stages of development. Millennium is currently developing the first female version of The Expendables tentatively titled The Expenda-Belles; and recently released the action thriller Criminal.

  • Make sure it's clear what makes your story stand out.
  • No excuse for typos in written pitches.
  • When doing movie comps, do NOT use movies that share the same concept as yours. Only compare movies that share the same tone.

Jim Young - Owner/Producer, Animus Films

 
Jim Young is a leading independent producer whose banner Animus Films has produced some of the industry's best indie films, including Almost Friends, starring Freddie Highmore and Haley Joel Osment, Lovelace with Amanda Seyfried, and James Franco, The Man Who Knew Infinity with Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons, and The Words with Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana. 

Last year, Animus Films premiered The Catcher Was a Spy starring Paul Rudd at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.

Marc Manus

Marc Manus - Marc Manus Entertainment

Marc Manus is a former award-winning photojournalist who attended USC film school before entering the field of artist representation. His first job was with manager Cathryn Jaymes, who represented the Academy-Award winning writer/director Quentin Tarantino, among others. After a brief foray into independent producing Marc held positions at various management companies including Incognito Entertainment, which produced the Warner Bros.' comedy Three to Tango. He then partnered with talent manager Jamie Gold for a couple of years, until he ventured out on his own to form Manus Entertainment. Marc now has a well-respected roster of up-and-coming writers and directors who have been involved in film and television projects at companies such as 20th Century Fox, Anchor Bay, Escape Artists, IFC Films, Lionsgate and Syfy. A few of his recent client projects include the original spec screenplay Cornered, in active development with 1821 Pictures, a remake of Phasma Ex Machina set up at Universal Pictures and Crawl to Me, an adaptation of the best-selling graphic novel, set up with Rodar y Rodar (The Orphanage). Marc most recently served as co-producer on the micro-budget horror-thriller Delivery, which made its world premiere at the 2013 Los Angeles Film Festival and is due for release in early 2014.
