Dan Fite, Jr. was born on November 25, 1998 in Decatur, Alabama. Growing up, he always loved pretending to be characters from his favorite films. In elementary school, he began to constantly write a variety of stories on his family's computer , which he would print out and have his family read. By age ten, he was convinced he wanted to be a writer of some kind, and thought it would be cool to look into screenwriting. However, his life was forever changed at age 12 when he was diagnosed with a rare foot disorder and had to have corrective surgery that completely immobilized him for six weeks. Around this same time, he had a video production project that he had to do for school. Unable to attend his regular classes, where his fellow students would learn to produce their own footage and edit on the school computers; he got his first laptop and a small camcorder and began to teach himself how to make his own project through YouTube tutorials. Through these videos, he was able to produce a short documentary for his project and explore the process of filmmaking, which he became extremely interested in. His health got worse over the next couple of years, as he was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis the following year along with an irritated liver and an enlarged spleen. This discontinued his sporting activities, and so he turned to filmmaking as his new hobby. Over the next couple of years, he developed his craft through online video advertisements for his father's business, as well as producing videos for his church. He also dove head first into the world of cinema, and soon developed his passion for storytelling into the medium of motion pictures. Since then, he has started his own production company, Yellowhammer Motion Pictures. In 2015, he produced his first narrative short film entitled "Artists". He still resides in Decatur, where he is finishing high school while working on producing his first feature length film.
