About Dan
So- My life so far has been.. interesting to say the least. I'll just cover the last ten years or so in the interest of space. I moved to Alaska from Illinois to work as computer engineer. I took my wife, 2 of my kids and my stepson to the great white north because it was a great opportunity and because we had never been there. We all fell in love with it instantly. Fast forward about 5 years. My wife was in a freak snow machine accident and died 4 days after. Suddenly I was a single parent 3000 miles away from both of our families. I left my job to raise my kids which ultimately resulted in losing most of our material possessions. I took a job care-taking an abandoned hotel up on a mountain pass where we lived for 2 years without running water or electricity. (not as bad as it sounds, really. It was actually an amazing experience!) After my wife died I sort of drifted until I found Full Sail university online and re-discovered writing. Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish - No power makes an online college really tough. Fast forward again to last year. My Dad was terminally ill so we came back to say goodbye. It was supposed to be a 2 week trip but my mom needed someone to help her out. A year later and I'm still back in Illinois, still love writing, and would love to do some screen work.
Unique traits: Unique perspective on life, understanding of Alaskan bush life and REAL wilderness survival, experience in multiple odd situations.
