About Deidra

I have two sides to my persona. The Performer and the Observer. The performer is a child of the stage, who has always loved being the center of attention, while the observer carried around a purple polaroid taking pictures from age 4 till it broke. At age 18, the performer landed an intern position in Los Angeles, CA as student Anchor/Reporter on Channel One's Student Produced Week with Lisa Ling as a mentor. At the same time, the observer diligently captured footage and put together her reel. These two personality traits would help me throughout my extensive education in dance, theater, tv/film and video, and history from the University of Oklahoma; where I graduated with honors and took part in multiple organizations like Film and Video Club President and Marketing & PR Coordinator for the Women's Outreach Center. They would also prove to be valuable during my experience as an international student abroad in France, where I organized events and activities through teaching dance, yoga classes and helping to produce a variety show.
After returning to the states and moving to Atlanta, I began working as a professional photographer, freelance choreographer and actress. Then, I pursued and achieved two Master of Fine Arts in Photography and Sculpture from Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia.

Now, I continue to pursue my passions behind the camera as a Photographer and independent Cinematographer, though I also remain open to opportunities in front of the camera.
