I am a composer and musician currently living in small-town British Columbia. I am currently writing music, studying music composition for film and video games, and teaching music production. My goal is to become a freelance composer for the entertainment industry in the next 18 months.
A little more about me:
I grew up playing the piano, and took up the trumpet and voice as I progressed through middle and high school.
Once graduated, I sung in choirs and played in a couple bands, but did not actively pursue a career in music. Instead I went to the University of Victoria and completed a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
My interest in a music career was re-kindled in the summer of 2012 by a friend of mine who decided to start his own video game company and wanted a composer to produce some music for his demo. I agreed and spent the next 4 months working on my first project.
Since then I have been studying music composition on my own, and spending time in my studio building a modest library of music to improve my musical craftsmanship. My short term goal is to work on smaller projects where I can balance my passion for music with my personal and family life. In the next 5-7 years I would like to be able to quit my job as a Lab Tech and commit myself full-time to music composition.
