About the job

THAT JONES BOY! OR, THE ADVENTURES OF A BASTARD, a Musical Comedy of Manners adapted from the mid-18th century classic novel TOM JONES by Henry Fielding. Book & Lyrics by Robert D. Carver. Music by Michael Matasci. Reset in the late 18th century (1790) and performed in the stylized manner of the period, as if by the resident acting company of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London under the direction of the actor-manager Philip Kemble.

This will be a "high concept" production. A select number of audience members will be invited to attend in period costume so the show will actually begin as they enter the theater on West 46th Street in Manhattan, even before the curtain goes up. Though the houselights will be lowered during the performance, there will be no "fourth wall" between the stage and the audience, which will be directly addressed by the actor-manager who also plays the title role.

There will be a series of readings and workshops beginning October 21st, 2023 at 10 AM at Ripley-Grier Studios, 8th Avenue and 35th Street in Manhattan, NY
