Seeking screenwriters in New York City, New York
I wrote two episodes for an indie, dramedy web series based off of a loose outline that was provided for me. I’m not available to do so, but told them that I’d ask around to see if I can find them a writer who is. It’s for virtually no pay (I got $100 for approx 30 pages) but might be worth it, if you’re unproduced and looking for iMDB credit. Please email me at DillonScreenwriting at Gmail dot Com if you’d like more details &/or contact info.
Seeking producers, financiers and actors in Roccaraso, Italy and Pescocostanzo, Italy
AUGUST 19-2018: After some emails and submissions from actors and a weird proposal from a young filmmaker to acquire my script for free to shoot his own movie in his country, I've to admit that Stage32 wasn't helpful as the previous time. Even though I was aware that finding producers online for a feature project to be filmed in Italy wasn't going to be easy, nevertheless I was hoping that the international flavour of my project could attract the attention of professionals in Europe and abroad. Anyway, I've once more realized that this country isn't exactly the ideal place for art and cinema (despite his glorious past). PLEASE NOTE: Some people who applied for this project didn't reply to my messages and emails. Plese be professional and avoid to apply randomly for all the job postings on Stage 32 without bothering to write why you think you might be the right person for that position. In 2014, after posting my indie short movie project on Stage 32, I managed to find the actors who made my dream of shooting my script in Manhattan a reality. “New York, a venture” was the fulfilment of an almost utopic goal as it completed my Trilogy of “Hidden Mind Cities” including the movie “Nepente” directed in Rome in 2009 and “EDOnism” filmed in Tokyo the year after. Eventually it was screened at the first edition of the Dobb’s Ferry Movies4movies film festival in February 2017 getting enthusiastic reviews from the jury and the audience. In the meanwhile, I released my seventh novel “Balia Bufera - Nurse Blizzard”, a peculiar “coming-of-age” story blending fantasy, folklore and teen-drama that provided the narrative premise of an ambitious feature movie to be shot on a plateau among the mountains of Middle Italy. The story has an enormous visual and dramatic vibe granted by the natural landscape and ancient towns, as well as by the metaphorical and literal employment of a railway and the copious snow that are landmarks of the place. Concept, mood, places and narrative structure have been carefully created and built upon my own childhood memories and pictorial motifs developed in my paintings and novels. There are even some visual references to the fictitious world of Rien Poortvliet, the dutch artist who created the popular series of "Gnomes" and to the eerie atmosphere of the tale "The white people" by Arthur Machen. Del Toro's "The Pan's labyrinth" is one of the stylistic inspiration for my novel and script, as well as Robert Egger's "The Witch" and "Spring", a peculiar horror-fantasy movie directed in middle Italy in 2014 by Justin Benson and Aron Moorhead (and deeply appreciated by Del Toro). Even though it has been conceived as a low-budget feature, it isn’t a project I could produce on my own like my previous independent works. Therefore, as soon as I completed the script the last summer I started submitting the book, a mood board, some concept art and the movie outline to a dozen of major studio and indie producers based in Italy and abroad in order to lay the foundation of a (hopefully) international co-production. I was quite confident that, along with my director reel and resume, the material was going to be treated at least as worthy of consideration. After a couple of weeks only an important Italian studio replied, simply stating that it wasn’t interested in speculative scripts. As more months passed without any feedbacks, I realized that I needed to radically change my method of pitching the script if I wanted to find some real chances. That’s why I thought that Stage 32 can be again a precious support in keeping this project alive and widen the network outside the “Italian” boundaries, even in the hypothesis to shoot the feature in a different location in Europe or America. At this stage I’m specifically looking for producers, financiers, agents, managers and investors able to arrange financing for the feature and coordinate the several aspects of film production but also actors that could fill the main roles and are willing to join a “once-in-a-lifetime” adventure. All paintings and concept art by AFAN Alessandro Fantini. For further info please reach me out at: email@example.com

Seeking producers of marketing & distribution in San Francisco, California
We are an independent film company in the San Francisco Bay Area and are in the development phase of creating a dramatic fiction feature film titled Catch of the Day. We are currently seeking a Producer of Marketing and Distribution (PMD) who will work closely with the creative team to develop a marketing and distribution strategy into a Marketing and Distribution Plan (MDP), and to carry out the plan. Catch of the Day is a woman-driven drama that’s Lady Bird meets Manchester by the Sea. It’s about a trapped corporate accountant still running from the pain of her fisherman mother washed to sea, and her angling-loving teenage daughter. When called home during summer salmon season, mother and daughter struggle with the inheritance of the debt-ridden family fishing boat and the chance to make local fishing – and their own lives – sustainable once again. The ideal PMD candidate should have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Producer of Marketing and Distribution in the dramatic fiction space, and should be flexible, and possess the ability to multitask with a high attention to detail and a positive attitude. She/he is someone who is a collaborator and not simply a for-hire service provider. To do the job of a PMD requires a tremendous amount of earned-trust from the creative heads, and we expect that our PMD will be able to cultivate that level of trust and become a key member of our creative team. She/he must be passionate about the personal endeavors involved in conducting audience outreach and community building. Moreover, we need a PMD who will become intimate with the production and who will be able to speak with an authorial voice as part of the production team. MORE ABOUT THE FILM: Catch of the Day is an independently produced film that tells the story of Chris Johanson, an overworked accountant and single mom in San Francisco losing the battle to keep her headstrong teenage daughter, Lucie, on the right future track. During one of Lucie’s summers back fishing salmon season off the rugged Northern California coast, her grandpa skipper, Stan, passes away. Chris is forced to juggle the corporate grind with time returning home to grieve and decide the fate of the debt-ridden family fishing business. And yet in the process of burying her father and facing past demons, Chris’ heart breaks wide open to Lucie and Alec, Stan’s free spirited deckhand. Together, they find a way to support the waning fish stocks by embracing a sustainable Community Supported Fishing co-op. But even as romance blossoms between Chris and Alec, it was never meant to last. The end game was always to sell the assets and get back on track in the ‘real world’. Alec may accuse her of running again and Lucie may never forgive her mother, but Chris is determined to make the responsible, less risky choice. Or is the real risk missing out on life? Catch of the Day is a poignant drama about the danger of suppressing the yearnings of the heart for the promise of future security… only to end up waiting a lifetime to really live. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify and engage with potential audiences for the film and, in conjunction with the key principles of the filmmaking team, develop a distribution and marketing strategy and Marketing and Distribution Plan (MDP) for the film. Create a budget for the MDP. Integrate the MDP into the business plan for the film. Assemble and supervise the necessary team/crew elements to carry out the MDP. Conduct audience research and build relationships through organization blogs, social media (including email collection) and influencers and through online and traditional publications. As needed and appropriate, strategize and implement fundraising from the potential audience of the film in conjunction with or in place of traditional financing. Supervise the creation of promotional content (such as production stills, video assets - both behind the scenes and transmedia, promotional copy and art/key art) for the films website and social media sites, and provide a timeline that illustrates what elements are released when and how they will be disseminated. Outreach to potential distribution and marketing partners including film festivals, theatrical service companies, community theatrical bookers, DVD distributors, Digital and VOD aggregators, TV sales agents, foreign sales agents as well as sponsors and promotional partners. Coordinate, organize and supervise the creation of traditional deliverables in addition to creation of all media needed for the execution of the release as needed including: Modify and adjust the marketing and distribution plan as new opportunities present themselves during the film’s life span regarding information about audience, market, and partnerships. When appropriate, engage the distribution process, which includes the release of: Live Event Theatrical – Booking and delivery of all forms of public exhibition of the film including all elements that make the screenings special events (appearances, live performance, discussion panels, etc.). Merchandise – Distribution of all hard good physical products created for the film. Digitally – oversee all sales of the film in the home territory and internationally via TV, Cable, VOD, Mobile, Broadband, etc. Ramp up the marketing of the film to coincide with the release, which includes: Organizational Relationships Sponsorship Relationships Affiliate and Email Marketing Promotions Media Buys (as warranted) Seeding trailers and other video content Any specific marketing especially tailored to the film SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: In-depth knowledge of scheduling and budgeting Project management and coordination, with follow-through skills Feature film experience A clear sense of time management and ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently; highly organized Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions and change course of action quickly and anticipate needs.
