My name is Frida Rivera Oliva and I’m a independent production designer and art director living in Los Angeles. With a fresh and innovative approach and a multidisciplinary background, I bring solutions where function and aesthetics come together seamlessly. I’ve worked in a wide range of areas: from designing concepts and spaces to generating visual stories to be told on film. I’m looking to grow with a group of talented and creative people.   • Tyrus

    Tyrus (2015)
    Film (Documentary, Animation, Biography and History) Art department TYRUS examines the life and work of pioneering Chinese American artist Tyrus Wong. Beginning with his arrival to the immigration detention center at Angel Island in 1919, nine year old Tyrus would overcome a life of poverty, racism, and discrimination to become a renowned painter and Hollywood sketch artist. The film will show how the quiet beauty of Tyrus's eastern influenced paintings caught the eye of Walt Disney and became the inspiration for the classic animated feature Bambi. For the next 25 years, Tyrus brought his artistry to Warner Brothers where his striking storyboards and set illustrations helped set the tone and drama for films such as The Sands of Iwo Jima, Rebel Without a Cause, William Goldman's Harper and Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch. First there is Edu Okoye, a talented singer and a man of deep faith, Edu's spirituality is helping him combat cancer, that and the love of his wonderful girlfriend Tracey. Edu's older brother Ugo, is almost the polar opposite of Edu. Edu is calm, reflective and peaceful whereas Ugo is hotheaded, impulsive and at times menacing. Ugo has also chosen a very different path than Edu, a life of robbery and crime and though Ugo knows he is on a path of destruction, the life he has chosen is not an easy one to leave and according to his gang leader Scorpion, a life he won't be allowed to leave easily.
