About Iz

My goal in directing and writing films is to emotionally connect audiences with characters in unique social and psychological situations while also educating about human issues that may have remained as untold stories.

Having an innate desire to tackle character driven films and challenges, I have been fortunate to receive some recognition. My short “The Chameleon” (El Camaleón) opened up doors with multiple official selections at nationwide film festivals, a PLATINUM REMI AWARD, as well as landing a licensing deal with the ShortsHD channel that will allow international audiences to view the film. After being awarded the PANAVISION NEW FILMMAKER GRANT for the production of my latest film “Sin Frontera”, the film won a GOLDEN HONU AWARD, an AUDIENCE AWARD, and a SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD as well as an official selection of the Academy/BAFTA accredited LA SHORTS FESTIVAL and the huge CHICAGO LATINO FILM FESTIVAL including a handful of other recognized festivals.
