When his mother declared he wasn't handsome enough to be an actor, João decided he'd go for something better - writing and directing. He may not have the looks but has empathy and passion for telling stories. Making use of his experience as 1st AD, he wrote ULTRA, a short that placed in the Semifinals of the ScreenCraft Film Fund.
