Location | Washington, D. C. |
Status | Pre-production |
Type | Feature film |
Genre | Sci-Fi |
FYI - THIS JOB LOCATION CAN BE ANYWHERE. BUT THIS FORM IS POORLY DESIGNED AND DOES NOT REFLECT THAT. I HAD TO PUT DOWN SOMETHING SO I PUT DOWN WHERE I AM LOCATED.
I am seeking a 2D character designer with expertise with Reallusion products such as Cartoon Animator 5 and leveraging their MOCAP ability. We are planning to do the animation ourselves but need help developing fully rigged, 2D characters we can use. Please see the attachments below for details.
This project is a short trailer for a proposed feature length similarly animated film. The designer who works on this trailer will have first right of refusal to work on the larger project.
The trailer needs 3 rigged characters. I need versions of them that can be animated front, side, and rear. I also need versions I can use for MOCAP.
DOC/INDIGO
A 50-something Caucasian man who wears an indigo blue cloak with a hood. A medical researcher and former marathoner, he has a skinny build and is 6 feet. His rig needs to fire an automatic rifle and a pistol.
AANYA
An Indian-American woman, age 23, dressed in military style dress. Though she was a medical research student, she has an athletic build. 5’ 10”. Her rig needs to fire an automatic rifle and fight hand-to-hand. We are NOT looking for the standard Marvel Comics style female super hero. She should be reasonably attractive but please no overtly sexualized or over-sized body measurements.
LEN
An adult survivor of the “plague”, he is horribly disfigured by the disease. Think ‘zombie’ in terms of his appearance but he and his people are not mindless flesh eaters. They have retained all their mental faculties. A former medical researcher himself, Len is a man with a wrestler’s physique, 6’, and dressed in some kind of domestic rags, like his former business suit, but adorned in military hardware.
There are also 2 horses and 12 random infected people in the background. They can be variations on Len.
Though we have no intention to copy or imitate, we are inspired by the stylistics of a forgotten 2D animated feature from the late 1970’s, called “Wizards”, by Ralph Bakshi. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXiuapQq65k
We’ve attached pictures of some of those characters as inspiration, or a starting point, for what we are looking for. We are open to more modern variations on this stylistic approach. However, we do want it to be 2D.
I am happy to answer any questions via email or skpe. thad@mediatah.com.
I can send attachments: Logline and synopsis of larger film, Trailer script, “Wizards” characters.
Thanks for the reply Aventoza! Glad to hear you have experience with Reallusion. Would you mind sending some links to examples in CTA4/5. Also, if you sent me an email address I can send the script for the trailer and the logline/synopsis for the larger script. Hopefully they are helpful in allowing you to visualize. Any idea what this would cost?
