About the job

LOGLINE - A young woman’s fantasy collides with reality when her online boyfriend wishes to meet the person she’s pretending to be.

ME - Greetings! My name is Tommy Garcia and I am beginning production on my latest short screenplay, LIFE TUNE--a tragicomedy/drama which has so far placed Quarterfinalist or higher in various contests and listings (Cinequest, ScreenCraft, Fresh Voices, Coverfly Red List, and more). My previous short films, AIRBAG and DISCRETION, have screened at numerous international events, including LA Shorts Fest (the world’s largest AMPAS and BAFTA-accredited short film festival) and the British Film Institute’s Flare Festival (the UK’s biggest queer film event). While this may be an ultra-low budget production, this script has received enough attention that I firmly believe in its prospects to become an award-worthy short. As with my prior work, I will be directing and producing this film, but first I need…

YOU - A talented and driven line producer/production manager to help bring LIFE TUNE to the screen. This person will work to ensure that principal photography for this approximately 15-minute film is completed within an estimated 3-4 day shoot to take place over a weekend in September 2019 (exact dates TBD; production budget is currently $15,000). You will be responsible for assisting me in budgeting, hiring, scheduling, managing insurance, permits, locations, and other duties as necessitated by production. This person will have experience with production accounting as well as a positive attitude, superior work ethic, and stellar interpersonal skills. I will look to you for honest communication in balancing my creative vision against all logistics and circumstances, both within and outside of our control. The ideal candidate will be fully capable of maintaining a set that is fun and collaborative while also being firm and professional.
