Composer needed for short thriller - a job post by Katie Blamires

About the job

We are looking for a composer for our short film Newton’s Third. Newton’s Third is a thriller centred around two brothers, Leon and Noel. When Noel’s play gets picked up the same day Leon loses out on a big promotion, Leon begins to believe that when one brother succeeds the other fails. As this idea consumes Leon, he takes drastic actions, changing his relationship with his brother for good.

A film about family, obsession and greed and how an idea can corrupt and destroy lives.

For music we’re taking inspiration mostly from Gone Girl and Get Out soundtracks. In particular their use of the harp to create tense, subtle scores with this we want to bring the audience closer to the inner workings of Leon’s mind.
