About the job

I am looking for a lead producer for my MFA thesis film, a queer fantasy romance. It is a 10-minute short focusing on the relationships between a trio of women, two of whom are selkies (shapeshifters who live in the water as seals and as women on land).

This is not a large project, I have a budget of $15k, but it is still the largest project I have ever done. With that in mind I am looking for a producer who is versed in budgeting and fundraising. I am also looking for a producer who can work with me to identify what all of my needs for the shoot will be and be sure that I have all of my ducks in a row. This includes but is not limited to: crew and talent, locations, permits, insurance, and the myriad of bureaucratic details necessary to make a film happen.

The lead producer will be working with me to ensure that we are aware of everything that needs to be done; I will have two additional producers who will share responsibility for seeing all of these tasks to completion.

The shoot will take place in July.

As this is a queer film, I am looking to hire a crew that is primarily women and non-binary people.
