Katarina Givens was born deaf into a hearing family and wears cochlear implants. Pursuing an art department career in motion pictures, quick to understand the concepts to offer a creative approach to developing minds. She grasps new techniques and processes quickly whether it be made by hands or using technology. A background in films and fine arts gives her knowledge of art materials and motion picture skills. She had worked on multiple short film projects, specializing in arranging the overall look of the film on several student projects while at the University of Texas at Arlington. At the Southern Shorts Award Competition/ Festival, her work won the Excellence of Achievement in Production Design in Ball is Life. Her curiosity and passion for learning keeps her skill set always developing. A team player, she is confident and hard working.
