About Leticia

Originally from the South of Spain, Leticia Agudo is a screen writer and director who started her career first in theatre when she went to Ireland after studying drama at Queen Mary University in London and Theatre Directing at UEA in the UK. Later, she returned to education to undertake a Masters in Film Production at TUD in Dublin, Ireland, to fulfill her inclination towards visual storytelling.

After graduating, her nose – and nosiness – led her to documentaries. In between, she wrote. As she built up confidence and found her voice in her adoptive language and country, she was drawn back to writing and directing live-action. She has since written and directed several award-winning shorts and short content. More recently, she has had two rounds of development funding for her feature script MY REFUGEE from Screen Ireland, has won an international award for CASA DE SULLIVAN, and for her short comedy series' pilot script, CAVAN. Her voice, as it turns out, is tragicomic.

She’s a member of the Writers Guild of Ireland, Screen Directors Guild of Ireland and Women in Film & Television Ireland.
