Decades have gone by, and still no new generation action heros could replace these two; I am not even sure we have any these days...(?) Hollywood desperately needs to come back to charismatic actors' era of a raw talent.
Hollywood, needs to come back TO STORY. Human stories, enough of fake (Marvel, Comic) super, unrealistic heroes. Make these for kids in animation format the way they were originally conceived.
Thanks , JOE. Go, brother. I write Drama, Horror, Romance (have completed those ) Now I just started writing my first Crime - Drama. ALL STORY driven. Now, animation and sci-fi I need to take classes for. I love those mediums, but can't connect as a screenwriter. I live that to you Joe and the great writers in this community who write those genres. Just like music score composers, they have my most utter respect and admiration. Shout out, to some of the great composers I've come across here at S32: BRANDI, BRUCE, KORAK, ZAC , SHIRLEY ALDRED, RUSS WHITELOCK, FRANCESCO. TIMOTHY A. EDWARDS , just to name a few of soo many GREAT ONES here.
I was joking. I was saying I'll be the next Schwarzenegger. I wish I could do that, but I never looked like an action hero. also, I'm not much of a writer. I bring other people's projects to life. I'd love to work on the next action hero project though.
The problem (as I see it), is that very rarely can muscular men actually act well enough to carry a film. More often today you will see men occasionally bulk up to play a role (Wolverine, Batman, Superman, etc), rather than stay that size year round (Dwayne Johnson).
In my view, Hollywood has moved steadily away from heroes and toward virulent anti-heroes or simply scum bags who are supposed to be interesting because they are 'quirky'. I find the trend repellent and watch fewer and fewer current films.
