Women in Animation

Hi Everyone,

I've been working with a producer to develop my comedy animation series. We have a killer pilot script, bible, everything. I've been looking for funding sources, and since I'm a female animation screenwriter, I was hoping to connect with organizations like Women in Animation. After going to their website, I still don't understand what exactly they do for writers/show creators like me. Can anyone point me in the right direction for resources for women/ minorities in animation, or any other funding resources for that matter? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

I'm a member of Women in Animation - it's more of a networking organization than anything with speaking panels, networking events, and a mentor program. They're very focused on getting more women working in animation, but I'm not sure they have any funding resources. I think Women in Film has some funding programs, but they're not specifically geared toward animation.

Teresa - Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Thanks for the info! I appreciate it!

Try writing for a grant first: http://www.filmdaily.tv/grants/list-film-grants-women

It is easier to find money once you already have some money put towards your project. A grant is a good stepping stone towards full funding.
