Anything Goes : Creative World Awards by Bear Kosik

Creative World Awards

I got my scorecard back from Creative World Awards for a sitcom pilot that has received five laurels in competitions and has received great feedback from many directions. The CWA judge made some comments that don't jibe with anything I have received before in terms of the layout of the script (complained that having the title on every page was confusing), grammar and spelling (it has been professionally edited), and scene descriptions (using the term "establishing" for a shot of the Las Vegas Strip in the distance). The biggest was being told I am "presumptuous" to include short bits putting characters on Jeopardy on a television screen. This judge seems to be so far out there compared to anyone else who has looked at the script. Other than just forgetting about it, any words of wisdom on handling such criticism?

forget bout it but identify why the reader says your script failed. 99% of the time when folks complain about format issues it is because your story/voice was not engaging.

It's odd that you would put the title on every page.
