Anything Goes : RIP Robin <3 by Maria Riboli

RIP Robin <3

I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Robin Williams. I grew up watching Mork&Mindy and I've seen every movie he was in. There was something so kind in his acting. I remember seeing him in Times Square quite a few years ago. He was shooting 'Death to Smoochy'. It was a very busy morning, packed with tourists taking pics and not noticing anything. I was standing there, flyiering for a theater show. Robin Williams was walking down the very crowded sidewalk. He was in costume and in character. He was dressed as a homeless. No one recognized him. Across the street was Danny Devito with the crew setting up lights for the next shot, and everyone was way more interested in that. Robin Williams walked right in from of me, we locked eyes for a brief second. He realized I had recognized him and he realized I wasn't gonna disturb him. He smiled gently and bow his head lightly. I did the same. Respecting his art and his moment. He was gone, lost in the crowd, as fast as he came in. You never know what kind of battles people are fighting every day, even if they are smiling all the times. It's a very sad loss. My heart aches for his loved ones. We lost a great one today. RIP Robin Williams. His death seems intense, almost like he was family. He was a genius for sure.
