Animation : When All It Took Was Your "Imagination" by Roth Rind

When All It Took Was Your "Imagination"

As children, we viewed the world through the lenses of our imaginations. The carpet became lava, the shadows formed monsters, the family minivan was a spaceship. But the older we got, the more reality set in, and soon we forgot the magic our minds could create. We invite you to step back into your childhood and take a look through the lens once again.

Karen "Kay" Ross

Wow, this is fantastic Roth Rind! Did you make this? I'll echo WL Wright's question - is there a link we can find it at?

Also, if you don't mind, would you share this post in the Cinematography Lounge ( and Filmmaking Lounge ( as well? Those moving shots are fantastically well-planned as are the match cuts. Man, still marveling at the sheer amount of props, costumes, and locations in this!

Roth Rind

WL Wright Karen "Kay" Ross Thank you guys. Yes I did make this! Here is a direct link:

Roth Rind

Karen "Kay" Ross I will post this to those lounges as well!

Arafa Al-Mughairi

Laurie Ashbourne

LOVE THIS! and I recognize many of the same toys now shoved away in boxes, included that awesome Scissorhands figure.

Roth Rind

Laurie Ashbourne thank you so much!

WL Wright

Thanks for the vimeo link! Awesome video I could watch that over and over.

Claude Gagne

How old were you when you started and now? Woah! Great work! Congrats!

Roth Rind

Claude Gagne Thank you so much! Are you asking how old was I when I started this? Or how old was I when I started in Filmmaking?

Claude Gagne

Yes, I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one to want to know a bit about your creative process. Could you do an animation for kids with the process you use here? I wouldn't come close to what it would cost me or the time to have a kids' feature realized! CG

Roth Rind

Claude Gagne , the project took roughly 1.5 years to complete. There were a lot of start/stops and the child talent was in school so we couldnt get him all of the time. He was a rockstart though. As far as how I got started in the business, you can find out a bit more information in this interview here:

Claude Gagne

Thanks, Roth! Good luck man with your creative genius.
