I am working as a stage manager for the first time this fall. I have acted for years, but I am still very new to this side of the table! Is there any advice that immediately comes to mind? Tips and tricks that have worked well for you in the past?

I hope you go to the theatre a lot. This week is typical. I saw two plays already, will see another on Thursday. Theatre people go often to see work onstage. Talk to the crew. Invite a stage manager out for coffee, one on one. Do you aspire to be in the union? Ask questions of those who got to that level. Good luck.
