Read a Good Book Lately? : Bel Canto by Adam T. Sasso

Just an anecdote...I decided to free up some shelf space and donate a bunch of books that I have either read already or probably never will. So, I put a bag together for Goodwill. Bel Canto wound up on top. Completely random. As I carried the bag downstairs and saw the title I thought to myself "Gee, that was a very popular book. I wonder why it hasn't been adapted to a film yet. Someone must have the rights..." The very next morning, while driving, I listened to one of my favorite podcasts (The Q& A with Jeff Goldsmith - I highly recommend for anyone interested in screenwriting/directing/filmmaking). The interview was with Paul Weitz (About a Boy, Antz). They were discussing his new film "Grandma". At the very end of the podcast, Jeff asked him what he was currently working on. His answer? An adaptation of Bel Canto. doo doo doo doo....
