Hare Brain Tortoise Mind by Guy Claxton

This book was mentioned in an editorial about Creativity posted on RB's blog a week ago. It raises all kinds of great questions around creative/intuitive thought processes. I'm only about half way through but the points being made are significant and can change the way we view the creative process. On another front, "Theory of Everything" caused me to explore another unknown territory, or that of String Theory. It's great to be able to make sense of what was always felt to be out of range when authors that understand common people explain concepts in ways we can grasp. This is creative thought in action.

I'm going to get this book, it's an interesting concept learning about new ways of thinking. (I prefer book to online.) Sometimes the mind can get like a stuck record, thought patterns become a kind of repetitive groove.

What Guy presents here is alternative ways of viewing how we 'intuit' by virtue of various studies that have been done. Being someone seeking a breakthrough around innovative visual storytelling I find the 'forcing' creative ideas not to be working which is why I find this book of interest. Here's a video from the author on the essence of the book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aB_4YU6UtCw
