I recommend, Michael Caine's "Blowing the Bloody Doors Off"

Definitely a fascinating read. It gives you an insight as to working class values in a bygone era of film and theatre. He's got some good life lessons in there, even though things have changed hugely since he started out. I enjoyed his previous book, 'Acting In Film' but this is less about technique and career and more about an attitude to life, a few funny (or sad) stories and a philosophy for surviving and thriving. Well worth a read!

Hi @Rowen. Yes I agree, I have all Michael Caine’s books and this has some insights the others don’t. Times have changed in film and media since he started out, but people are still people, and I admire his empathy. I have always been a fan, Alfie and Get Carter are legend.
