Read a Good Book Lately? : Screenwriting from the Soul by Richard Krevolin (1998). by Marcel Nault Jr.

Marcel Nault Jr.

Screenwriting from the Soul by Richard Krevolin (1998).

A humorous, slapstick version of a screenwriter's self-help book.

Written in the style made famous by Rainer Rilke in “Letters to a Young Poet" in 1929, Krevolin doesn't pull any punches as far as the difficulties and delusions of grandeur of the Hollywoodian pipe dream. Mind you, this was written in 1998. Some things have changed, but they remain the same, somewhat, specially with the current set of events regarding the WGA.

It teaches the screenwriter the essentials on storytelling, its concepts. It also shows us how to entertain the audience, receive and ACCEPT feedback even when we think we don't need it.

Highly recommended!

Sounds like a fantastic book! I'm definitely going to check it out. It sounds like a great way to learn how to write with both skill and humor.
