I lovingly call these two books my Old Testament and New Testament. Christopher's updated version of The Writers Journey (explaining in detail mythical heroes journey) has additional chapters on Life Force Operating in Story; Mechanisms of Polarity; Body, Catharsis and other Concepts in a fantastic new appendix "LOOKING BACK ON THE JOURNEY". Linda's updated book The 21st Century Screenplay has Einstein like blackboard diagrams encapsulating her ideas in bubble type drawings. The text explores and mines at the deepest level the options for Tandem Narrative and Non Linear Writing. I do not treat these books as separate entities, moreover I juxtapose, and intersect their ideas at certain points. Interestingly, BOTH books have a detailed breakdown of Tarantino s Pulp Fiction, and one of Linda's diagrams compares Voglers Heroes Circle as not dissimilar to the foundation of one of her own formulas. QUESTION Can anyone recommend books they are reading by John Truby ....? The reason being I cannot just find a bookstore and need to order online. Thanks.

A BOOK FOR LAZY SUNDAY. We all love deep learning curves and intellectual revelations as writers, but occasionally its good to kick back with a dose of light hearted fiction. I stumbled across this book Dead Writers in Rehab by Paul Bassett Davies. A witty and sometimes black comedy about a writer who often ends up in rehab, only this time he meets famous writers who have been deceased for years. The writers end up trying to help their doctors overcome THEIR problems, in a place that could be quote "Priory or Purgatory." Its a great chance to witness in a funny, rather than a painful way, the problems caused by over imbibing or substance abuse and the thoughts and feelings that accompany these habits. "The Wildest Fiction Can Tell The Soberest Truth." Quote back of book.
Not to be ridiculously self-promoting, but if you're looking for a fiction read, my six books are all award winners (shameless; simply shameless). donnarussomorin.com

I just read The Cursed Child - J K Rowling. As a novelist I was interested in the Screenplay style and found it surprisingly engaging. Good story too.
Congrats on the award winning. With so much competition out there, winning an award for your writing is really something special, to win six! A writer of note, clearly. Congrats again.
