Though mangas are technically not novels, but they are volumes are still books. Very good reads indeed!!!!

Guys you should read all the 13 volumes of Neon Genesis Evangelion manga. Its brilliant and engaging. Among the best mangas I have ever read. Sadamato Yamamoto out did Hideaki Anno on this one. Especially the ending, it had so much solace and richness. Best mecha manga period!!!!!!

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius

Black Sails perked my interest in the classic text. i picked up a copy. He makes an interesting study for leadership.

Happy new year! may your ass be on fire!!!!!!!! with!!!!!! desire!!!!!!

Please do all yourselves a grand spanking favor. Keep Steven Pressfields book “Turning Pro,” “War of Art,” and all of his books near your desk to read in feelings of woe and worry, it’s helpful to get a kick in the pants. Much love.

William Martell

My ass is not on fire with desire... which sounds a little porny to me.

Lora Covrett

Great advice! I just finished reading "War of Art" about a week ago!! I believe the second book in the series is "Do the Work" and then "Turning Pro." Those are on my "to read" list.

Beth Fox Heisinger

Hey Raymond, this is Beth from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Screenwriting to Read a Good Book Lately?, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!

Speaking of the word "Ass". I think this word can be taken in many different contexts. I'm roaming around "Indie" libraries Scandinavia at the moment and just seen this poster hovering over DVD sectio...

Do The Work...and All The Other Shit That Goes With It

Last night I read Steven Pressfield's three self-motivating books in one hit. This morning, I'm knackered as a result but also fired up. And looking forward to reading them again. For those who are interested, they are: The War of Art Turning Pro Do The Work And yes, I can remember the moment when I...

Three reads in a night! That's strong. I'll have to check 'em out. My best read in 2015: 'F@@K IT - The Ultimate Spiritual Way' by John C Parkin.... Best read so far in '16: 'The Future of God' by Deepah Chopra

Lisa Marie

I have those three also and love them! He's so motivating and inspiring.

Melissa Willis

The War of Art is a must read, IMO.

Ready Player One

Sounds like a cliche children's book, but a must read for anyone looking to preview the vision of Steven Spielberg's next project.

Fuck it

...THE ULTIMATE SPIRITUAL WAY by John C. Parkin is my favorite book from 2015. Wow, what a read! I've been studying systems of wisdom all of my life and this book is one of the best. Hope you enjoy

Success is an Inside Job by Simon T. Bailey

Went to a Empowerment Seminar and the author was there. He spoke so well that I purchased his book. Wow! It was so good that I started reading it to my kids. We've started a Daddy-Read date. We're on Chapter 3. I'll let you know how it goes. By the way, the book is a easy read and uses stories that...

Has anyone read the "Pharaoh" book by Boleslav Prus ?? :)

I have recently read it. And it impressed me to do a photo set. I invite everyone to look at my new photo project named "Egypt" on my page. There is also the story of the photo set. I wonder what movie could be done on this idea..:) That would be great !

Vasco Phillip de Sousa
Quentin Tarantino: the man and his movies

Sure, it's an old book, but this covered the start of Tarantino's career. It's pretty interesting to see that he didn't have to back down on artistic creativity to get his first film made.

William Martell

I have his first film, MY BEST FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY, on VHS.

Vasco Phillip de Sousa

Okay, I meant his first completed film, Resevoir Dogs. When the book I was referring to was written, the Birthday movie was supposedly lost (and not shown to the financiers of other films.)

William Martell

DOGS was originally going to be shot on my friend's 16mm camera for close to no money (what he got from the sale of TRUE ROMANCE - which he split with original Roger Avary). Then it got slipped to Har...

Have you read this life-transforming book ?

Can you imagine a spiritual classic that is as unputdownable as a gripping novel ? It is 'Autobiography of a Yogi'. A hard copy would be better because on average, we already spend too many hours on the screen of one kind or the other, but here is a free download anyways : www.yogananda.net/ay Spiri...

I read some chapters at the Self-Realization Fellowship Mother Center at Mt. Washington. I'm reading his booklet The Law of Success. . . again.

That's great, Bev. I suggest another small booklet, 'How You Can Talk With God' . But, of course, 'Autobiography of a Yogi' is the masterpiece and I had shared in my post a link for free download of t...

I really enjoyed Autobiography, Lake Shrine is such a wonderful place to visit. "Awake" is a pretty good film as well.
