As a Professional Photographer I love to Photograph people and their amazing animals, like Bears, Tigers, Porcupines Alligators. What can I do to make my Photography experience better?
I like your work Jason. You've done some crazy shoots in cool places with some amazing animals. You obviously have your workflow down and lots of experience. I can't think of much to suggest. Something you might want to investigate - the latest generation mirrorless cameras. There are definitely some features that you might find useful. My wife is also a pet photographer and she has switched from using a Canon cameras to the Sony A7S (full frame sensor). She likes the very small body size and the light weight. The Zeiss E mount lenses are also designed to be compact and light. She prefers to shoot in natural or available light without a flash. The A7S performs extremely well in very low light. High ISO's are amazingly low in noise. Also, the A7S has superior dynamic range (15.3 stops) - so fewer highlights are burned out along with better shadow detail in dark fur. This camera has significantly impacted how she works.
Wow thanks I'll look into it. I haven't met to many pet photographers. I would love to see some of her work, if that's ok with you? Here this is my website www.lifethroughmylens.ca
Jason, here is my wife, Kristin's website: www.kristinzabawaphotography.com She is now specializing in animal hospice photography. This type of work prompted her to borrow my Sony A7S which I use for some video projects.
Can we see some examples of your work? That might help with giving advice about craft and artistic choices.
