Composing : On a roll, it's a good time for sync. by Jason Donnelly

I know a lot of people who have been in the industry for many years saying sync just isn't what it used to be and royalty free music services are killing sync BUT I must say for me sync is working out just fine. I completely understand their perspective and I know they are right for the most part and I'm curious what your take on all of this is. Still I'm stoked. I just got my BMI statement as they were just issued and once again I'm surprised by all the cool shows my tunes end up in. Maybe I'm just grateful because it's an industry I always wanted to have my hands in but until about 3-4 years ago was just a dream. I only have a couple tunes on a major network (about 40 of them are in cable shows) and a handful in some video games and one song in a DVD featurette for Dispicable Me 2 BUT it's still really exciting to see the list grow. Today amongst the new placements we have my tune "Barbed Wire Umbrellas". It was used in The Getaway featuring Aziz Ansari !! Played almost the tune in it's entirety.
