Plugin Thursday! - MachFive

Happy Thursday All, For the last 10 years (or so) Native Instrument's "Kontakt" has been most composer's Go-To sampler. It's extremely stable, there are a LOT of third part developers that encode their sample libraries with it, but it has it's drawbacks as well, which I won't get into here. I want to present to you an alternative: UVI's MachFive (ver3). This sampler has been around for a while, and is distributed through MOTU (Digital Performer). MachFive has a bit of a learning curve and things are laid out a bit differently than Kontakt, but it is an amazing sound design and sampling engine. Highly recommend looking into this, plus more and more sample library companies are developing for it. There is a "free" player version (can't build your own sounds in it) called UVI workstation. Feel free to check out their offerings here: http://www.motu.com/products/software/machfive http://www.uvi.net/en/software/uvi-workstation.html Best. Sam
