Composing : Short film soundtrack by Mara Cracaleanu

There is a jobs board here for you to post your projects. This lounge is generally not where people come to find opportunities. However, if you want, you can private message (and add to your network) people whose names you see here such as Andrew and myself.

But please be aware we all want to 'share the love' and so you should not limit yourself to just our names. From an artistic point of view, we all have different styles, strengths, and sounds so to use a crude analogy, I would not be the person to come to if you are looking for 'beats', pure synthetic and ambient sounds, or a 'heavy metal'/rock band sound.

We all address various and overlapping parts of the music creation market. So when you approach a composer, you should start by making sure you listen to some of their previous material in film soundtracks and make sure you are comfortable with what they have done in the past (even if they/we say we can score to anything! :) ).

Two of the films I scored last year (of eight), ended up with the filmmaker saying they wanted to move in a 'different direction' after most of the music was delivered. It happens but we all want to minimize that.

Funny story about that recording…years ago I knew that it had been recorded from a conversation with the engineer, but I couldn't find it any where and really wanted to hear it. So I'm online a go to Jeremy's site and sent an email through the contact form asking where I might find a copy. I get an email back from Jeremy saying that he could never find a label for it's release so it had just been sitting "in the can" for years. He said that if I'd like a copy he'd send me one. Two weeks later I get an envelop in the mail and in it was a one off that he printed on his computer with a paper label. I cherish it. How cool is that!? Probably one of the best composer/arrangers of our lifetime and a really nice guy as well. So I guess the lesson learned was to always continue to be nice and take time to help those when you can.
