Looking for Director / Screenwriter to Collaborate on a film

Hi Stage32 community!

I’m the story creator for a short film idea called The Quiet Between Sisters. It’s a heartfelt, visually-driven drama about two sisters who silently support each other through emotional neglect and private struggles, ultimately finding peace and healing.

I provide the full story, characters, and emotional beats. I am not looking to direct or produce—I’m purely looking for a filmmaker or screenwriter to bring the story to life.

The story is perfect for a short film or movie with strong visual storytelling. I’m looking for collaborators who are passionate about emotional, character-driven stories and have experience with short films, movies and/or indie projects.

If you’re interested in collaborating or want to learn more about the story, please send me a message.

Looking forward to connecting!

Minh Nguyen

Hi Alyssa, I just saw your post about The Quiet Between Sisters. The premise really resonates with me, I’m drawn to visually-driven, quiet emotional storytelling.

If you’re open to it, I’d love to learn more and see whether we’re aligned creatively. I’m a writer/director developing a few character-driven projects (often minimal, atmospheric, emotion-first), and I’d be happy to share my portfolio so you can feel my tone.

If it feels like a match, we could explore a collaboration on the screenplay (co-writing or adapting your story into a script). No pressure at all, just a conversation to see if our sensibilities connect.

Would you like to share your story outline / key beats, and tell me what kind of collaboration you’re looking for (credit, expectations, timeline)?

I suggest adding a profile picture of yourself and a detailed bio to your profile. People will feel more comfortable networking and collaborating with you if they know what you look like. And if you have a picture, your profile will show up when someone searches for you. A detailed bio will help you build relationships/network on here. You could add things to your bio like why you joined the industry, your accomplishments, your goals, and what movies and shows you like.

You can upload a picture by clicking the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and selecting “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu, then clicking the red button underneath your location and choosing "Update profile picture."

Minh Nguyen Thanks for your interest! I’m happy to share the story outline. The Quiet Between Sisters is about two sisters growing up with emotional neglect. They have a deep, wordless bond while coping differently—the older seeks love and validation from others, and the younger struggles internally. Key beats include:

  • Childhood: Sisters playing, mother yells, silent glance between the sisters shows understanding
  • Public vs. private: Family appears happy in public, sisters’ sadness is revealed privately
  • Teen years: Older sister seeks attention/love, younger sister hides pain
  • Turning point: Both begin healing—older finds genuine love, younger covers scars with a tattoo
  • Final scene: Sisters sit together on a park bench, watching two young girls swinging, reflecting their own childhood joy
