Pitching Woes

Hey everybody. I went to a pitchfest last night at Raindance Toronto and had a real life experience of what never to do. There were three judges, all working independent producers, who did everything they could to respond positively to very amateurish pitches. My heart went out to the screenwriters who wanted to get financed and make their movies, but they just didn't have a clue. I saw artists who had put everything they had into their scripts, and hope that would be enough. It isn't. I was very grateful to Stage 32 and Richard Botto for what I have learned so far about being a professional and understanding the business of creating art.
