The Art Of Ruining Ideas and Turning Them Into SOMETHING better

This is a collection of my thoughts as someone who makes films all alone. From being the actor to running around operating the camera and being the artist behind-the-scenes, it might get complicated and hard but it is never impossible to tell a story. I live in a really small island where film isn't something big but my passion lives on. If you're looking to get inspired or motivated, I can't promise you that this is inspirational but u never know, it just might be:

Keep experimenting and learning. Love your originality and honesty. Best wishes as you make more films.

Doug Nelson

You're doing REALLY well - keep on keepin' on!

John Ellis

The fact that you're doing it rather than making excuses is a powerful inspiration! Wonderful!

Shadow Dragu-Mihai

Watched it, it's great. And it IS inspirational. You will find even when you get to work with a good budget and other creators, that the process of film-making is still your path alone. Doing it and refusing not to do it is what makes great film makers. You are clearly on your way to that.

Billy Kwack

pretty good keep learning

Karen "Kay" Ross

Love this reflection, Vi Angeli Zarco Lanot! So encouraging! Thank you for sharing! What's next for you?

Vi Angeli Zarco Lanot

Thanks, Karen. Other than editing a short film from a prod company in Virginia and editing my new short film, I have just received a green light from a producer and will be directing soon

Doug Nelson

I wanna see the results of your Directing style - post something.

Shadow Dragu-Mihai

Doug Nelson Didn't she do just that??

Doug Nelson

Shadow - yes she did (and it very good) but I'd like to see her work on what she does for the Producer who greenlighted the project.

Itayi Chitauro Junior

Okay, I have been on this platform for less than an hour...and I MUST SAY, I'M INTRIGUED AND INSPIRED already !!!

Hope we work on something together, soon!

Billy Kwack

Vi have you finished college for film?

Vi Angeli Zarco Lanot

Thanks guys!

I don't have money to pay for film so no

Billy Kwack

I had to work two years before going to college, it was worth it

Debbie Croysdale

@Vi Your input is always uplifting, passionate and positive and its great you are green lighted to direct a new project. I enjoyed samples of work you already done, the “crazy” script where you sit on sink and the doll heads (saw more of other clip) are cool idea to expand on. Don’t regret not going a “school” your doing a lot more now creatively than some folk leaving film school. Are you most keen to act, direct or write or all three feel same importance?

Vi Angeli Zarco Lanot

I'm working right now and saving up for either film school or better equipment. Right now, I own no lighting, and a 4gb RAM in my computer (which pretty much limits me to what I can create). Although, if I had to choose. I'd rather spend my money creating something. The nearest film school from where I'm at is still far and I'd need to be oceans away and all. Right now, doing this and making magic out of nothing is currently the best type of practice I have because it lets me rlly think outside the box. But, I'm still 18 and maybe I'd save up for school in the future. Right now, I love creating my own stuff.

@Debbie There was a phase in my life wherein I've loved writing, acting, making my own music, editing but I realize now that I want to direct. I sure will be posting more soon and I'm very excited to work with some cast and crews on this new film Ill be making.

Billy Kwack

Vi, I didn't go to film school until 31 years of age, at least you know your plan

Vi Angeli Zarco Lanot

That's amazing, Billy!

Billy Kwack

Thanks Vi, It's still a long journey I like screenplay contest and I want to study books this season

Billy Kwack

Do you draw Vi? directing is a high art form it helps

Debbie Croysdale

@Vi It's great you got directing bug and don't kick yourself about not going film school, your already making films. Also, particularly covid era more schools now have online courses, so don't matter you live far away from them. I am learning to write social distance horror and will hit you up next year to do a monologue for my online tapestry.

Vi Angeli Zarco Lanot

@Billie that's amazing! Keep going. I don't draw though but that's nice.

Debbie Croysdale Thats awesome. Id love that!

Billy Kwack

I'll try, it's very tough

Janet Goodman

I admire your passion for filmmaking. Thanks for your inspiring video.

John Radtke

I appreciate that.

Karen "Kay" Ross
