Which coast is better for to make a film?

The question seems to pop up over and over again. But I always love the comments. NY or LA? This question makes it into the narrative of so many films. I can think of (2) right away. 1) TOOTSIE(1983) Stanley Pollack is playing Dustin Hoffman's agent and he is on the phone with :"The Coast" Dustin barges in and interrupts his call stating "THIS IS A COAST TOO, MAN. THIS A COAST TOO!!" 2) ANNIE HALL(1977)Woody Allen while walking down 66th street is telling Tony Roberts -- "Why should I move to LA where the only cultural advantage of living there is being able to turn right at a red light". If you look at my examples and my bio you'll know my choice. But what about yours? Thank you.
