Many high quality contents are produced in Africa year, yes most are done with low budget but do have captivating story lines and production quality. The difficulty is finding distribution for these contents so to allow the film to travel globally. Even when these films are acquired they are acquired at next to nothing . Most international platforms will price films differently if the aggregator or distributor is not African based . Now the problem is African content producers are looking for distributors that can help get them good deals internationally for their content. I do know that some elements are important to help the film, like cast: having a known cast c an help to swing the discussion in your favour, hence in my film A Soldier's Story 2 - Return from the Dead we casted veteran Hollywood actor Eric Robert. Another aspect is to have a good story and make sure the production quality is good. With all this in place it is now to find a good agent or distributor that can get the best deal for such African movies and take them to the world stage either through limited cinema release or VOD platforms like Netflix, Amazon etc
