In today’s streaming-driven industry, great writing alone isn’t enough to get your script read. While talent is essential—and you already have that—access, alignment, and advocacy are what actually open doors. Most streaming executives don’t read unsolicited material; they respond to trusted relationships, clear mandates, and strategic timing. If you want your work to be taken seriously in this space, you need to understand how “getting read” really works inside a streamer—and how writers earn that opportunity in the first place.
In this exclusive Stage 32 webinar with Whitney, you’ll learn how writers are actually getting their scripts read by streaming executives, how to position your material for the right buyer, and how to navigate gatekeepers with confidence. You’ll cover everything from assessing whether your script is truly ready, writing a bio that gets noticed, and executing a strategic outreach, to mastering follow-ups, managing rejection, and maximizing every introduction. With real-world examples, handouts, and actionable guidance, you’ll walk away with a clear roadmap for building access, momentum, and professional relationships—so when opportunity strikes, you’re ready for more than just one read.

This sounds like an incredibly practical and timely webinar. You're absolutely right that the gap between "great script" and "executive reads it" is often less about craft and more about navigation, understanding mandates, timing, and how to make yourself findable within a system that actively filters out unsolicited material. For writers who have strong scripts but are early in building those trusted relationships, what would you say is the single most underestimated or overlooked entry point they should be focusing on right now, beyond just querying or contests?

I’m so excited to host this webinar! I’ve met so many talented storytellers on this platform and the only thing standing between your project and dream is access! This hustle is a road with many ups and downs but don’t forget you only need a door that’s cracked open and one YES! During our time we’ll talk strategy and how to best position yourself for that opportunity. I believe many are closer than they realize. Let’s connect on Thursday at 1PM PST, I hope to see you there.

Whitney! Thanks for the brain power today! I definitely do my homework on the Execs who I chose to meet with on Stage 32 (That’s why I’m here talking to you!).
Is there a priority when reaching out to people here? Is it better to focus on pitching to Managers to try and get representation, or keep going after Execs, too?
I’ve got my ½ hr. comedy pilot script, 2 page pitch, website with a pitch deck and teaser video, etc. Just want to know the best place to laser-focus. THANKS!

Also, regarding the second sample, does it need to be a completed script? Is a solid outline or pitch good enough for the discussion?

You mention that writers came to your attention on Stage 32. What's the best way to share our work on this platform? With so much talent here, how do you decide whose work to actually read?

"Nobody knows a hit until it's a hit." True! How long did it take the Duffer Brothers to get Stranger Things made?
