Advertising costs are based on how many people will see the advertising (CPMs). A 30 second commercial shown during the Super Bowl costs millions of dollars. CBS is able to demonstrate that over 100 million people watch the Super Bowl. A 30 second commercial on a local TV station might only cost thousands of dollars because only a few thousand might see it. So the question of a fair fee is highly dependent upon your distribution pattern. The fee for the placement is directly related to the value of the placement.
