First crowdfunding ever

Hey everyone. How many of you have had successful crowdfunding campaigns?

Ben Sledge

Our Kickstarter for Recursion Theorem was successful, but also very low. We ended up raising about 5k. So far, we've spent about 15k. Which... I know, is nothing, but it's a lot for me personally. I really don't know if I can do another project at this level. It's taken two years to do a 30 minute short, and it's taken a toll physically and mentally. That's filmmaking, I know. Now what I have to figure out is how to leverage this project so that making the next one is more realistic and we can start with a decent budget. This gives you an idea of what we accomplished with the funds raised plus personal contributions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGfQ2kv_MFA

That was a great clip. Editing is very tight. I feel your pain...this art form takes a toll.

Ben Sledge

Yeah... lol... an art form where the paintbrush is hundreds (or thousands) of people, and the canvas is millions of dollars. Self expression! ;)

Hi Ben, this is Beth from the Stage 32 team, please refrain from promoting your project by posting the YouTube link within forum threads. We prefer promotion to be posted on your own profile page or in "Your Stage." If you repeatedly post promotion within the craft and business forum threads, that may be considered "spam" and may be deleted. That kind of posting behavior can also lead to suspension from the site. Thanks and best to you! :)

Ben Sledge
