Financing / Crowdfunding : What kinds of promotions get you excited about a crowdfunding campaign? by Michael Dritto

Michael Dritto

What kinds of promotions get you excited about a crowdfunding campaign?

When you look at crowdfunding campaigns for specific projects, what are the things that jump out to you? What would motivate you to back a campaign for a stranger?

Do you look for a well-produced concept video? Does it have an adverse effect on you if it looks amateurish?

Do you solely look for how much passion the filmmaker presents in their pitch video?

Do you look for signs that they are well-organized and have done their research?

Do you look for A-list talent?

Do you only donate if the project sheds light on a social or moral issue?

Do you look for campaigns where characters from the film interact with their fanbase?

Very interested to hear your thoughts!

Michael Dritto I've backed some projects on crowdfunding websites and most important for me was the team behind & uniqueness of the project. Never gave importance about other factors like if the project involves A-listers/ or is if it is amteurish.

Thanks for your response, Kiran! What aspects of the team stood out to you?

Mostly their conviction & effort they put in to the new project
