The campaign includes something crucial which I've seen in other successful campaigns, evidence of what they have done on their own to (in a sense) earn your potential contribution. I saw another campaign that went well which included samples of footage which the writer director had shot on her own. In effect, she and her team had shot, and edited with continuity, the first 20 minutes of the movie and were now looking for funds for completion (having clearly demonstrated what they could accomplish on their own).
