Introduce Yourself : A big hello to everyone! by David G Haddon

David G Haddon

A big hello to everyone!

My name is David g Haddon. I am a writer looking to meet other creative types. COVID-19 has upended my life by losing my job of ten years, but it has allowed me to rekindle an old passion. Writing.

Are you making the most out of this quarantine? I've been busy this year creating two pilots, two features, and a ransom note or two for the bank account. What else has everyone been up to this year?

Christiane Lange

Hi and welcome! My work has survived, but I still had more downtime during lockdown than usual. Finished a pilot and am working on getting it out there. Also managing an actor, who is in the middle of shooting a film, which got delayed by COVID, but is now almost finished.

In parallel, I have been doing ongoing promo of a photo project I did last year with two friends. It is in a virtual show at the moment, out of NY.

Hey, David G Haddon! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. Nice to meet you! I feel you about the "up-ending". Glad you kept going with your writing! Where are you at in the process? Are you in need of feedback or are you ready to start pitching? Definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who is excellent at matching projects with potential executives (or managers, in your case): J.Mirch@stage32.com

I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely reach out on the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) for insight into characters, dialogue, and even when you want to generate interest in a virtual table read! Those table reads can be SO energizing - definitely consider it!

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time.

Welcome, David! Yes, this is a challenging time for everyone. This Pandemic is forcing many us to go boldly where we haven't gone before. You're definitely on the right track. Happy Writing!
