Introduce Yourself : Award-Winning Composer by George Shaw

George Shaw

Award-Winning Composer

I'm a classically trained composer, who specializes in orchestral music, but am comfortable doing everything from rock, to jazz, to electronica. I have 16 feature film credits, created custom music for a handful trailers (including Lionsgate's "Peacock"), over 50 short films, and have collaborated with many of the top personalities on YouTube, including NigaHiga, Kevjumba, Michelle Phan, and Wong Fu Productions. YouTube videos featuring my music have surpassed 100 Million Views. "Audiences are moved by my closing monologue in LIL TOKYO REPORTER. Thanks, but I credit George Shaw's music." - Chris Tashima (Actor and Oscar-Winning Short Film Director) I recently received a nomination for a Hollywood Music in Media Award. Soon to be released, is a feature I scored, "Hang Loose", which stars YouTube celebrity Kevjumba, Dante Basco (Rufio from Spielberg's Hook, & voice of Prince Zuko in Avatar: Last Airbender), and Justin Chon (Twilight).

Scott Goldberg

Hi Goerge, we are always on the look out for people with your credentials and I hope you'll follow me and as our animations get larger and more complicated, we want to add people on our list of available hard working and inventive artists. I'm Scott Goldberg and work with Mike Herzog (Mr. Mike) here and Bobby Tofig, Jakob Gawlina, also a composer like us and we want all of our people to be happy and productive, so our main plan is to make sure that all artists, and what are normally designated as "work for hire" artists, will get something from each thing they provide us. We mean to break to mold of the evil and negative way film and music studios do business. We know we can't be liked by everyone but we're gonna break the mold and I guarantee that if you see some of Mike's CGI stuff, "Appi, in "Just Believe" as one small example of an animation meant to empower children and tell them, "the can!" here on stage 32 in the lounge and under Mr. Mike, shows a very small portion of what we can do. Our plan, not only addresses the sad situation most of us who have made real movies have unfortunately encountered, but also address more on the creative side that will hopefully ensure, that anyone who works for us is also working WITH us as a portion of each project, valued both as a fellow artist and as a real threat artistically, to the rest of the world. I guarantee you that VAAS is coming and going to be here for good. Mike's animations are fantastic as are most of our stories and music. No promises, but I like what I saw and please come be on my friend list. Peace George and best to you in all endeavors and in health. Scott Goldberg, Musical Supervisor, mix and mastering engineer for VAAS. Cheers! Scott
