Introduce Yourself : Expansion by Mark Popejoy

Expansion

Hello Stage 32 patrons. Although I've been a member for about 3 years now, I haven't been on in quite some time and really never have introduced myself to the 32 world. Seems to me, I really need to up my networking game! So here's my attempt at an introduction.

I've been very active in the Nebraska Independent film community for some time in various facets. Everything from gripping, acting, scouting, securing, managing, producing and have just this past June directed for the first time. A short comedy called "Mower Boy", which will premier at the Prairie Lights Film Festival in Grand Island, Nebraska this October. I love everything about film making. It's all I think about. I hate having to turn film makers down when asked to be in or work on their projects. One of my biggest shortcomings sometimes is not being able to say no. I actually feel guilty when I have too. Lately here, I find myself having to do so though, just because I still need to spend time with my family and unfortunately... yet fortunately still have a job. There's only so much vacation and sick time one can use for film making! (HA!) If you want to keep your wife.... HAPPY!

With all of that being said, I'm currently now involved with 2 short films, one is still in post, and the other in festival circulation. I'm in production on a horror anthology feature, which is a sequel and in pre-production on another feature scheduled to shoot late August/September. As you can see, I'm involved and willing to work. I WILL make this my career, I know it! With hard work and continued dedication. Hopefully a few connections!

I'm thinking you'll be seeing more of me on here and posts of things I'm working on and to LEARN. Learning to be a producer, manager, director... ACTOR! All hands on learning. But I can never hear, read, or associate with other like minded folks enough. Thanks for reading along! Good Luck to you all! Feel free to hit me up!
